Cinemax Refresh

Inspired by the flickering neon of a seedy bar or nightclub. This refresh was all about creating a dark and cinematic space for Cinemax’s programming to live on.

Using Gotham Narrow as a base I developed an animated type face that feels cinematic and colorful, while not complicating the canvas. Each character was hand animated and then we created an After Effects script to help ease the process of creating promos and IDs. This redesign was used internationally as well as within the US.
